Budapest Hero square and more

Budapest one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There is so much for us to see and such little time to see it all.

Hero square this is the square that feature the seven chiefs of the Magyars. There is a certain grandness about this site.

On the way to hero square we passed the city park ice rink between hero square and Vajdahunyad castle.

The square is full of locals, tourists taking photos and street sellers. We were fortunate to get a clear but cool day when we headed out.

We move on from hero square to the other side of the river to visit Matthias church in front of fishermans bastion.

The Church was built in the 14th century and later restored in the 19th Century.

We continue to explore the area and take in Buda Castle which was the castle of the Hungarian kings built in 1265.

The views from up here are awesome.

Unfortunately for us time in Budapest is running out we have to board our boat and travel up the river. I manage to get some photos of the structures carved into the rock on the rivers edge. These constructions have served many purposes over the years including acting as as a hospital during the second world war.

Budapest we will have to go back and ensure we have some time to actually spend exploring at a less frantic rate.

Budapest loved it.
