When in Germany you should definitely see this area the Rhine Gorge in Germany is famous for the vineyards and castles the the dot the riverside.
We visited this area in April and the weather was spectacular as was the scenery.
We were on river cruise with the Australian touring company APT. We stopped at Rudeshiem in the Rhine valley and caught a gondola over the numerous vineyards that stretch out over the Rhine Valley.
We are going up to see Neiderwalddenkmal a monument in the Neiderwald park. The monument was built to commemorate the unification of Germany in 1870s. The statue is of Germania and is about 10 Meters high.

The views from here are magnificent and again we were fortunate enough to have a beautiful early spring day.
After spending the morning wandering through the area and taking in the local scenery we boarded the Gondola and headed back the ship to continue down the gorge.
